Ernest
Ivor Hughes purchased his first school, Buckingham College of Harrow, in
1952. He held strong beliefs about nurturing an individual's confidence,
together with the academic and personal talents within each child to ensure
a successful, well-balanced adult. His dedication to improving educational
standards was widely accepted and he was recognised by the leading independent
school's authority, the ISA 1, of which he was elected Vice President from
1978 - 1984, having successfully chaired its executive and council for the
preceding ten years. Following his untimely death in 1984, his trustees
formed a charitable organisation in his name, to uphold and develop the
beliefs and principles which E. Ivor Hughes had promoted during his lifetime |

It has to be where the needs of each pupil are individually assessed and
met.
It must be an environment in which each child plays his or her unique
part in the school community, just
as they do in their own family.
Above all, a place where each child can develop their personal talents
and fulfil their potential.

What
is the best school you can choose for your children?
Of
course, it is one that achieves excellent academic results, but it is
much more than that. It is a school that will do the very best for, and
get the very best from, your children. Which is exactly what an E. Ivor
Hughes Foundation school strives to do.

 |
All
the schools in the Foundation pride themselves, first and foremost, on the
excellence of their pastoral care. They are true communities in which every
pupil plays an active role and where their unique talents are recognised,
celebrated and encouraged.
We are
committed to bringing out the best in every pupil, enabling the
individual to achieve maximum value from their life in school and beyond.
This is the value of an E. Ivor Hughes Education.
